Alumni Association Resuscitation – Join us!
After a long hiatus, the Marlboro College Alumni Association is finally getting a reboot thanks to renewed passion from our alumni community and a core of committed, amazing alums who have taken on the hard work of grassroots organizing. But they need you.
Dear Fellow Marlboro Alums,
We are a small, but growing, group of dedicated Alumni who have been working diligently to re-establish the Marlboro College Alumni Association, which has been dormant since 2010. During this crucial time for the college, we recognize the importance of coming together. We’re reaching out to you, via the help of the college alumni office, to encourage you to join us. In the short time since we gathered with 27 alums on campus for Home Days, we’ve heard from over 100 more. We’re hoping you will join us to demonstrate that a Marlboro College Alumni Association can revive and thrive into the future.
According to the dormant by-laws, anyone who ever attended Marlboro is automatically a member of the Alumni Association. Our goal is to stand up an independent Alumni Association, one that works in concert with the college to promote, encourage and support current students, academics, and initiatives. And to have open, democratic elections for Council positions in the Spring.
Because there is urgent need to participate in dialogue with the college and its trustees now, we have offered to serve as an interim council and temporarily lead this organization for the coming months. We’ve already made good strides by connecting with alumni, the current Marlboro administration and community, and the trustees. We’re hard at work building bridges with everyone who is passionate about Marlboro. We hope that includes you.
If you’d like to join us, please send us an email to info@marlborocollegealumniassociation.com and include your Name, City and State, and Grad (or associated) year. This will “opt you in” and give us the green-light to contact you with more Alumni Association news and initiatives. And if there are specific areas with which you’d like to assist, please let us know that, too.
And please, feel free to share this email with any and all alumni, family, and friends of the college in your networks. We look forward to hearing from everyone.
Yours in community,
Daniel Doolittle ’95, Randy George ’93, Cate Marvin ’93, Jessica Taraski ’91
