Marlboro’s mathematics fellow has a deep understanding of his subject and its applications, having started with bachelor’s degrees in both industrial engineering and mathematics from Boğaziçi University in Istanbul. Onur has gone on to receive his MS in mathematics at Michigan State University, and has nearly completed his PhD there—all but his dissertation in the field of algebraic topology. He has taught everything from Elementary Mathematics for Teachers to Multivariable Calculus, and has extensive experience tutoring in MSU’s Mathematics Learning Center. He is the recipient of an MSU Mathematics Department teaching award, and has been a facilitator in the orientation of international teaching assistants.
