Political science is the systematic study of power.

Political science asks important questions about how power is achieved, how it is legitimized, how it is wielded, and how it is contested. Through the lens of political science, we gain a better understanding of how societies are governed and how states interact with their own citizens as well as other states, international organizations, and non-state actors. We consider the ethics of power and conceptions of community, identity, justice, and citizenship.
